1. Fast
2. Pray
3. Stay in the Word
I've never done much fasting before but the Lord has been teaching me how to do it. There is no fixed length of a fast that is acceptable to get the results we are looking for. The Lord has taught this writer to do the fasting that I can, and over time push myself gradually to do more. So right now I am doing around 16 hours per day, not even a full day yet but what the Lord wants from us is what we can give not what we cant give. If 16 hours is it, 16 hours is it. Do what you can today, tomorrow perhaps you can do more.
Pray. Its time to re-kindle flames that have been burning low. If you have been praying less, its time to pray more.
Stay in the Word. This one is self explanatory. Get in the Word every day. You don't have to stick yourself in a prayer closet for 8 hours per day, get in there when you can for whatever you can. Something is better than nothing.
We want to finish our race strong, not come limping across the finish line. We have no idea when: a. The Lord may come back for us or b. we might go to the Lord. We can be assured one or the other is going to happen soon. Time is flying by, our mortal lives are mist and vapor. We are here today, gone tomorrow.
What do these '3 things' do for us? They get us intimacy with our Lord Jesus Christ. Why is intimacy with our God important? Right here:
Matt 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Long ago, when a man said he 'knew' a woman it meant he was intimate with her. This writer understands the Lord's Word above in the exact same way. How else does one explain this:
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Yes, they paid Him lip service. Yes, they called themselves ministers. Yes, they even called themselves by His name but they were never intimate with Him, nor He with them. Intimacy, being shut in with our God is absolutely critical. In case we haven't noticed He made Himself perfectly clear how He sees His relationship with us (Christians and Israel):
Jer 3:9 Because Israel's immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood.
Is 57:7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
Matt 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
This is not some casual relationship, our God is looking for intimacy. Through this intimacy we get to really know our God and He really gets to know us. Thus, we pray we never hear these Words from our God:
Matt 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Time is short. How short? Only the Lord knows. He can drag out events and circumstances for as long as He wants to, Trump is evidence of this. Just when it looked like Barack Hussein was going to drag America down into the pits of hell, the Lord slammed on the brakes. Are we still headed in the wrong direction? Yes, but the rate at which we are headed in that direction has been slowed.
Same thing with the European Union and Brexit. That was another delay to this worlds anti-Christ dream being realized. This world wants the dragon, and they will get him but they will have to wait. It is our God's timing that prevails in all things.
Ecc 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
Now, do you want the really good news? As long as this is happening:
Prominent Trump Cabinet Members Meet for Weekly Prayer
This is not happening to America:
The First Seal: Rider on a White Horse
1And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. 2And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
The Second Seal: War
3And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
The Third Seal: Famine
5And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
The Fourth Seal: Death
7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
How can you be so sure brother D? Right here:
Gen 18:22And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: 28Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. 29And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. 30And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. 31And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. 32And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. 33And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.
There will be no destruction as long as a few righteous can be found. Yes, this presents an overwhelming barrier to the man made doctrines or doctrines of devils that have been taught in these last days that try to explain away the Lord God's promises to His people.
Luke 21:36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Its going to be rather difficult to both "escape all these things" while at the same time not escaping all these things (according to the escape deniers) throughout the tribulation.
Rev 3:10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Its going to be rather difficult to both be kept from the hour of trial ^^ while simultaneously enduring the hour of trial (according to the promise deniers) with the rest of this world.
Rev 12:13When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.
Its going to be rather difficult to escape the anti-Christ's reach ^^ while simultaneously being persecuted by the anti-Christ (according to the promise deniers). When the Word of God clashes with the doctrines of man, man's doctrine goes straight into the trash heap where it belongs...
According to Revelation 12, the woman gets to sit out the worst half of the tribulation outside the serpents reach. So much for "there is no escape." Noah escaped the destruction of his day, Lot escaped the destruction of his day and the Lord made very specific promises to those living in the coming days:
2 Peter 2:4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
The Godly will Be Delivered
7And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
The Word "temptations" up there is this:
from temptation, | πειρασμοῦ | peirasmou | 3986 | an experiment, a trial, temptation | from peirazó |
These are the things that have been on this writers mind of late. May the God of Creation, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless you and keep you.
