The War on Truth

What we hear non-stop out of republicans, democrats and the media are lies.  What they all have in common is they are serial liars.  The fact that politicians and the media are serial liars is not news.  The news is the common man accepting these liars and adopting the lie as truth.  In our world, the truth is the enemy and anyone who steps up to tell the truth becomes an enemy of humanity.  Surprised?  We shouldn't be.  The Lord Jesus Christ came down from heaven taking the form of mortal man and He came telling the truth.  What did the world do to Him?  Do we find it strange that the world wants to do the same to us?

One day its lies about Russia, then its lies about Korea, then its lies about Charlottesville, tomorrow it will be lies about something else.  So what?  Ready for the good news?  Our God foretold this thousands of years ago and He has a plan to deal with it:

2 Thess 2:1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

and here:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The war on truth is the war on Christ being waged in this world.  Don't forget who we are fighting against, its not the liars at CNN or the senate or the house of representatives, nope.  Its right here:

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Unfortunately for those waging this war against the truth, there are some unfortunate consequences that come with it.  Consequences like the snare:


Luke 21:34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

and consequences like the seals, vials, woes etc found in the book of Revelation.

The good news is our God told us about this, expected this, foretold this thousands of years ago.  He is not surprised, shocked, dismayed at any of it.  So, do not be troubled our God has a plan.  He has a plan for us and a plan for them.  The people who should be shocked and dismayed are those whose hope is in this world.  They should be plenty worried because, yes, its falling apart. 

What are we to do in dark days such as these?  The same 3 things:  fast, pray, stay in the Word.  Do these things and keep your ears open to the gentle voice of the Spirit.  When He tugs at your spirit, follow in that direction. 

Be encouraged, your God is with you to stand by you and fight for you in the day of battle.

This Word is just as much for us today as it ever was for Israel:

Deut 20:1When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you. 2When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and address the army. 3He shall say: “Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. 4For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
