Why did the Lord tell the Jews this:
These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. -Leviticus 23: 4
They are dress rehearsals for the real thing. Great, but so what? Many of us believe that Rosh Hashanah is a prime candidate for the secret return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Why?
Matt 24:36 But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Of the feasts above, one is associated with this unknown day and hour=Feast of Trumpets. Again, we already know this. So what? It would be wise for us who take the Lord at His Word that He will indeed return on a day and hour we do not know, to prepare for that day and hour. Why should we do that?
Mark 13:32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
When we combine all of this ^^ with the warnings we have been given recently, it would seem wise to begin preparing for that unexpected return. This has nothing to do with predicting what is going to happen, we already know that. He told us clearly His coming back for us is so secret only the Father knows the day and hour. In the days ahead we should be preparing ourselves just as the Jews prepare themselves during the days of awe leading up to Yom Kippur.
We need to be watching and praying as we were instructed to, to prepare ourselves to meet the Lord. That day is 100% certainly coming and we were told clearly we do not know when. In His mercy the Lord has given us warning after warning to do what we were told to do: watch and pray
Luke 21:34“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
The Jews prepare themselves every year during this season, we Christians attack like a pack of rabid dogs when someone mentions to prepare for the arrival of our Lord and He delays. One year, on one day and one hour, He is going to show up. Did we prepare? Were we watching and praying as we were commanded? We are not watching for just anything, we are watching for Him. Those who tell us not to bother because x,y,z has to happen first are seriously mistaken. When I read Mark 13:32-37 above and Luke 21:34-36 I don't see any preconditions to watching for His arrival.
The warnings are overwhelming. This world has already forgotten about the blood moons of 2014-2015 on the Lord's feast days, the solar eclipse warnings along with the myriad other warnings staring us in the face on a daily basis. The Lord has led this writer into a season of fasting (that has never occurred before-ever), and a renewed call to prayer and renewed consumption of the Word. Furthermore He has given some personal signs relating to "18" which this writer can only assume to mean 2018. Trouble is coming in 2018 or something else relating to 18.
Over and over again the Spirit of the Lord has also emphasized respecting the warnings and preparing based on those warnings instead of preoccupation with what is going to happen on some date in the future. The warnings are 100% real and require zero guess work or speculation. The warnings are here now and have been coming our way for years now starting with the re-emergence of the Shemitah cycle, the blood moons and solar eclipses. These things cannot be faked or covered up by the satanic powers ruling this world.
Nobody can stay at 100% razors edge readiness for an extended period of time. What we can do is increase our readiness around the times and seasons our Lord told us about thousands of years ago. We have entered into such a season as we approach the Feast of Trumpets and Yom Kippur. In His love and mercy He has given us everything we need to do what He asked us to do:
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
