This Syria business we are seeing in the news could end up being the fulfillment of Isaiah 17, or it could be another case of "look over there" while the economy and earth collapse under our feet. They will do anything to keep people distracted from what is really going on.
Isaiah 18Whoever flees at the sound of terror
will fall into a pit;
whoever climbs out of the pit
will be caught in a snare.
The floodgates of the heavens are opened,
the foundations of the earth shake.
19The earth is broken up,
the earth is split asunder,
the earth is violently shaken.
20The earth reels like a drunkard,
it sways like a hut in the wind;
so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion
that it falls—never to rise again.
Just as we see the pole shift in Rev 6, we see it here also.
Why write about these things ^^? The Lord is coming. This writer is providing evidence from the world around us and the perfect Word of God that the Lord is coming. All of these signs and signals herald His approach. Weren't we told to be watching and ready for Him when He appears?
This writer believes the Lord is putting on a show for us to get our attention. With all that is going on, most still don't get it and still don't care. To them, this writer is off on a tangent and is completely irrelevant. But in one hour, in one day their world will literally be turned upside down, and when it does all that they focused their attention on will be shown for what it is: temporal and irrelevant.
We are watching the end of days unfold around us and I am amazed at the apathy.
Let us not be the ones found sleeping when the Lord announces His presence.
