What is going to happen? Only the Lord knows that. What do we know? We know that all of the spring appointed times (feast days) were fulfilled to the very day. The next feast day (Moed-appointed time) to be fulfilled is the feast of trumpets (Rosh Hashanah). Will it be fulfilled on the exact day as the spring feasts were? It is the only one of the feasts that takes place on an unknown day and hour.
Rosh Hashanah:
Rosh Hashanah or Jewish New Year is called the Feast of Trumpets in the Bible because it begins the Jewish High Holy Days and Ten Days of Repentance (or Days of Awe) with the blowing of the ram's horn, the shofar, calling God's people together to repent from their sins. During Rosh Hashanah synagogue services, the trumpet traditionally sounds 100 notes. Rosh Hashanah is also the start of the civil year in Israel. It is a solemn day of soul-searching, forgiveness, repentance and remembering God's judgment, as well as a joyful day of celebration, looking forward to God's goodness and mercy in the New Year.
Needless to say this season is loaded with prophetic implications. Add onto that the shemitah cycles, blood moons, the recent solar eclipse and a truck load of personal signals to be watching and we have a period of time that only the ignorant or the foolish would overlook. The Lord has this writer's full attention, I pray that He has yours as well. This has nothing to do with predicting what is going to happen. It has everything to do with acknowledging the signals He has sent us and doing what we were told to do:
Luke 21:36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."
So what are we doing? We are watching-always, and praying like we were told to. The Lord has done a very good job of date setting without us needing to do it for Him. He is the one who set these "appointed times," not man. He is the one who set the signs and signals in the sky with mathematical precision, not man. We are to be observant, watching.
Now is the time to pay careful attention to our lives and set things right (if they are not already). Its not a question of "if the Lord is going to do something." He has already been quite busy "doing" and He has plenty more on His to do list that we can read all about from the prophets and the book of Revelation. Don't let the naysayers and scoffers put you back to sleep:
Mark 13:32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
