Yesterday's post described me asking the Lord to fill me up (my soul) and Him doing so. How did He do it, and why so quickly? This morning I stumbled face first into this:
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that
you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
What did I ask the Lord to do? Fill me up. What does the Word say?
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace"
So the Lord Himself tells us He wants to do such a thing. When we pray according to the Lord's own will and Word, answers are certainly forthcoming.
So the Lord gave me a small taste of understanding what He means when He is talking about our rewards. What is the effect of doing this? Again according to His own Word above:
"so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
He wants us overflowing with hope. What does overflowing mean? It means filled up to the top and running over the side with the overflow. That is alot of hope right? He calls Himself the God of hope up there. He wants us overflowing with it. He causes us to overflow with hope by filling us with joy and peace.
I asked yesterday and I received. Is there anything special about me? No. What does the Word say?
Matt 7.7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
^^ This is meant for all of us. This writer means to encourage you today to do what we were told to do in our need. Ask, seek, knock and continue to do it. Why should we do this? The Lord explains it for us:
9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
The Lord has told me to 1. be a man who walks with God and 2. Do whatever good your hands find to do.
The good these hands find to do today is to share my testimony with you that our God is good and His Word can be trusted. Hang onto it and trust Him to the very end and you will not be disappointed. Sometimes we have to wait for our answers sometimes we are answered almost immediately. If there is something that really encourages this brother it is that we have such a great God hearing and answering our prayers. When an all powerful all knowing God is our provider what is it that is out of reach for us? What does the Word say?
Mark 11.23 "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
He said it ^^, He meant it, and this brother can testify that it is the truth. This nobody has seen it happen over and over again, not because this brother is special but as a testimony to you.
Keep the faith, grace and peace.
