What Can Be Done About The Current State of Affairs?

There is a tsunami wave of evil and lawlessness sweeping the world today, question is what can the Church do about it?  The answer is simple:  pray, fast, weep in sackcloth and ashes.  If the 'pastors' and priests of this world had even a shred of spiritual discernment what you would be seeing in their "services" would be weeping and wailing, sackcloth and ashes.  Instead what we see is hopping, skipping and dancing as if there were nothing wrong at all.  I just saw an interview the other day where a Christian band went around asking pastors what kind of music they think the Church needs these days and they said unanimously "more joy" kind of music.  Really?

The Bible is a book of patterns where the Lord reveals Himself to us through what He has done in the past.  To put todays problems in perspective consider this:

Isaiah 22
8The Lord stripped away the defenses of Judah,
and you looked in that day
to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest.
9You saw that the walls of the City of David
were broken through in many places;
you stored up water
in the Lower Pool.
10You counted the buildings in Jerusalem
and tore down houses to strengthen the wall.
11You built a reservoir between the two walls
for the water of the Old Pool,
but you did not look to the One who made it,
or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.
12The Lord, the Lord Almighty,
called you on that day
to weep and to wail,
to tear out your hair and put on sackcloth.
13But see, there is joy and revelry,
slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep,
eating of meat and drinking of wine!
“Let us eat and drink,” you say,
“for tomorrow we die!”
14The Lord Almighty has revealed this in my hearing: “Till your dying day this sin will not be atoned for,” says the Lord, the Lord Almighty.

What we read here in Isaiah 22 is Israel in trouble and Israel did all the carnal, earthly, worldly things to fix their problems completely forgetting and overlooking the Lord.  Instead of sackcloth, they celebrated.  Instead of weeping and wailing they feasted.  This sounds exactly like today's Church.  The answer the pastor's have is "more joy! more revelry! more feasting!"  Wrong answer....And note carefully what the Lord said about this response to Israel's troubles:

14The Lord Almighty has revealed this in my hearing: “Till your dying day this sin will not be atoned for,” says the Lord, the Lord Almighty.

The walls of the nations are broken down, how else do you think the west has been invaded by Islamic armies?  Instead of sackcloth and ashes the west's answer is to protest here and there, in Holland men are wearing skirts as a form of protest.  Really?  Yes, really.  That is the world's answer to the walls broken down, the women raped and their treasuries plundered, protesting in mini-skirts...

The solution was laid out for us thousands of years ago:

12The Lord, the Lord Almighty,
called you on that day
to weep and to wail,
to tear out your hair and put on sackcloth.
13But see, there is joy and revelry,

This ^^ is an answer that will change things, anything less invites complete destruction.  Spiritual problems require spiritual solutions.
