War and Hope

We are in a state of continual spiritual war.  In war there are casualties.

As this world heads like a freight train into the last days, a question should arise:  is this all there is?  Fear, destruction and death?  As things continue to get more and more out of hand in this world, what are the righteous to do?  Are we to just barely make it in the last days or have we been called to something more?

What does the Word say?

1 Cor 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

It is easy to forget that what we are living through is a love story.  The tragedy and grief can sometimes be overwhelming but we have to pan the camera out and look at the bigger picture.  What is this life about?  A love story.

... By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten
Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

Our Lord sent His only Son in love to redeem us.  We are to walk in love toward Him and each other on this earth.  These three remain: faith, hope and love.

What we are seeing in this world is the death of faith, hope and love.  We are in the world but not of the world.

Matt 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall grow cold.

At all costs, we must hold onto faith, hope and love.  Without these things what is left?  As this world grows darker, the light within each one of us will be magnified in the world around us.  Consider what happens to even a tiny flicker of light in a room as the lights in that room are turned off.  That little flicker of light becomes magnified the darker the room becomes.

We are those tiny lights.

Matt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

When we consider the impact of small things, we are tempted to believe there are no small things.  The little things we do, however seemingly insignificant can move mountains.

Matt 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Surely as weak as we are, with the little strength we have we can lay hold of this much faith and move the mountains before us.

We are seeing the dividing line become more clear between the world and the believer.  There is no hope, love or faith in this world but we have been called out of it.

As it was written here recently, we have a different destiny:

Malachi 4:1For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

BUT.....

2But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], saith the LORD of hosts.
