So, the good we can do today does not require you to pack your bags for some distant land. The good we can do is right here right now.
John 14:5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him,
and have seen him.
Matt 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
So really what are we saying here? Everything boils down to: 1. Does the Lord know us and 2. Do we know Him?
Rev 2:4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent
Todays message is not a beat down but an encouragement to all of us. The greatest good we can do does not require us to spend a penny or even leave our own house. The great good we can do is to know and love our God. That's it. Glory to God.
