This servant was on a family trip over the past weekend and on that trip some more encouragements to be watching were given. The first one was when we were checking in to our hotel, the guy at the desk tells me "you will be on the second floor" and he starts writing on the small credit card sized room key paper holder 2......2.......2 "and your room is 222." That was like being temporarily clubbed over the head with a nerf bat or something and what was being seen and heard had to sink in. Then in the next day or two we walked by 222 something or other avenue, then in a different part of town we happened to go by a 777 something or other street. To the person who is not sensitive to the season, this could easily all seem like coincidence. In this particular season all of it had this writers "rapt" attention.
What else? Over this weekend the queen of England died moving prince William up on the royalty depth chart. What made this interesting is not the event itself but the event and when it happened-the timing of it all. Have you ever read "anti-Christ and a cup of tea"?
The last point of interest was the family was driving back from the airport last night to a fascinatingly beautiful moon. On google it says that beautiful moon we are seeing in the sky is a "harvest moon." The name harvest moon was not lost on this writer either.
Bottom line is the signs and signals keep coming hot and heavy as we approach this fall appointed time season. We have been called to be watching and ready for the Lord's unexpected expected arrival on any day at any time:
Luke 21
34“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
In love and mercy the Lord has given us who belong to Him as well as the rest of this world numerous wake up calls over the past 2-3 years. Anyone who is not awake yet to what is taking place in the world will likely need the progressive heat and pressure that will come with the time of Jacob's trouble to snap them out of their slumber. Some of us are paying careful attention in this season to take the Word of the Lord seriously as we watch for His unexpected arrival. Time could be really short. If it is, glory to God. If the Lord decides we have more work to do here, well then Glory to God and we continue to watch and pray always as we were instructed above.
We do not have long to wait to see what the Lord has decided about this season.
