In the U.S. the dept of homeland security has a marketing slogan which says "if you see something say something." We can alter that for our use to: "If you see something pray something." The servants of the enemy are busy attacking humanity across multiple fronts. The most significant of these attacks is trying to cause a mass de-carbonization event by provoking the big country that starts with an R to use certain tools at their disposal that look like mushrooms when employed.
We also see "them" attacking our food, water, gas/diesel, electricity grids and internet systems. Which means we need to pray for peace while "they" attempt to foment war. We need to pray that the Lord will protect our food, water, gas/diesel, electricity and internet systems so we who believe may live peaceful and quiet lives.
1 Tim 2
1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,
It has been explained here before but it is word reiterating, a lone infantry soldier on the battlefield is of little use. A lone infantry soldier on a battlefield with a radio can cause tremendous damage to the enemy. With a radio, a lone soldier can call in all kinds of nastiness on enemy forces. We are soldiers in His army on the face of this earth which is a battlefield. On our own, with no radio our usefulness is limited. But we have been given a radio called prayer. With our prayer "radio" all the forces and power of heaven can be brought to bear on this earth and that is a real serious problem for the enemy and his allies.
The enemy does not care about alot of the nonsense that humans do on the face of the earth. One thing he absolutely does not want us doing is praying....which means we should be praying on overdrive 24/7 non stop. The Lord our God answers prayers and is performing miracles in this world day in and day out. This all means we need to be busy 1. praying about everything that catches our attention and 2. employing whatever talents/skills/abilities we have been given to serve our Father's Kingdom.
There is Restraint taking place on this earth which prevents the enemy from turning this world into their own private hell hole. They are trying (really trying) but He who restrains will continue to do so until He is taken out of the way (2 Thess 2:7). We are part of that restraint. We are salt and light in this world which prevents darkness and decay.
Matt 5
13“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
14“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, so thatb they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Prayer is a combat multiplier. All the powers of hell, the legions of the enemy have their faces melted off by one answer to prayer by our Father. When the Lord our God decides to do something who can prevent Him? So, we need to pray. What the enemy is doing is kind of irrelevant. What the Lord is doing (and will do) is all that matters. We are part of what the Lord is doing and will do through our prayers.
1 Thess 5
16Rejoice always, 17pray without ceasing, 18give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
One last note before ending this post. Do you see how ^^ pray without ceasing above is sandwiched between "rejoice always" and "give thanks in all circumstances.?" That is by design.
Phil 4
4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5Let your reasonablenessd be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Right here ^^ in two different places the Lord is giving us a formula for success. We must remember the Lord is not "wordy." He is the most thoughtful and intelligent author in eternity so He uses an economy of words which by extension means when He repeats Himself we need to sit up and pay attention.
Bottom line here, the formula is: what we are asking for sandwiched between rejoicing and thanksgiving. Pay attention and you will see this all over the place in His Word.
Ps 34
1I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Let us join our prayers together in an effort to destroy all the works of the enemy. Let us remember while we are doing this to preface our prayer with rejoicing and tuck our prayers in at the end with thanksgiving. Do this, and watch mountains move.....
Mark 11:23
Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
Glory to God
Grace and Peace
