A 6.5 is a large quake and again this is not a quake in usual places, its in 'diverse' places:

The ring of fire and surrounding areas would be usual, N Iran is very unusual. We know with high probability based on the past 4 or so years of evidence that a large to very large quake is coming sometime late Sept-Oct timeframe. The pattern has proven itself like clockwork and we see that nobody knows where the big one this fall will strike. Diverse places means anywhere.
As the destroyer moves closer to earth things will continue to get worse on the natural disaster front. What this world can expect is earthquakes in the near term followed by famine, plague and the sword. How do we know this? We can already see it around us. Are people starving to death in increasing number? Yes. Have new outbreaks of flu, TB, ebola and other diseases been breaking out all around the world recently? Yes. Is perpetual war and conflict observable around us? Yes, has been for years. Is that enough evidence? No, but this is:

Notice that the Lord is very general when He speaks of a "destroyer" in the passages above. Sometimes the destroyer is one thing, sometimes its another. A "destroyer" is coming again and there is no need to pin the perfect name on it. Its enough to know that it is coming. Anyone who doubts this needs to flip their bible open to Revelation 6 and start reading through to the end of the book. Yesterday it was mentioned here that much of the coming destruction will be coming from above. A small sample of abundant evidence in the Word:
Rev 8:6Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
8The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11the name of the star is Wormwood.a A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
12The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.
13As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
All of that^^ comes from above our heads. Destruction, a Destroyer comes from above. While the world is busy distracting people with televised rubbish, destruction approaches from above.
Should we fear? No. Should we worry? No. The same Lord who has protected and provided for us all our lives will continue to protect and provide to the very end. The promises the Lord has given this servant have never, ever failed so why should I expect them to fail in the future?
There is an escape coming. I could care less what the scoffers say. The population in Noah's time scoffed at him, its no different for us today. Noah escape 100% of the flood. Lot escaped 100% of the destruction on Sodom and Gomorrah. We too will escape all if we are found worthy. We will be kept from the hour of trial which is to come upon all those who dwell on the face of the earth:
Luke 17: 26And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyedthem all. 30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. 31In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32Remember Lot's wife. 33Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 37And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
As it was in the days of Noe? Tell me this, did Noah live in days characterized by what we read in Revelation 6-19? NO. Who said that the days of the Son of man would be just like the days of Noah? Jesus said that. The days of Noah, as described by the Lord Himself were characterized NOT by the events of the coming Tribulation, but by eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building etc. Days just like today which are pre-tribulation.
Did Noah escape ALL of the flood or not? Yes he did. Did Lot escape ALL of the destruction on Sodom or not? Yes he did. Is another escape from ALL promised? YES.
Luke 21:36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
Rev 310Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
2 Peter 4For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,a putting them into gloomy dungeonsb to be held for judgment; 5if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men 8(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 9if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment
The people who argue that they will not be rescued, that they will take the full force of the tribulation in the face, well perhaps they are right and they will take it in the face.
Their lack of faith in the promises may seal their own fate. What we believe does matter:

The purpose of warning anyone who will listen of the coming destruction is to pull anyone we can from the fire. This is an act of love. The entire world around us is a giant warning sign that too many people ignore even at this late hour.
I have no idea when the Lord will come back for us or when sudden destruction will fall. My best guess is sometime after 2012. Why? This year has been built up so much in the minds of many that when nothing special happens in December people will collapse under the weight of their own expectations. When 2013 starts out with nothing special or noteworthy attached to it then we should be on high alert again. When real destruction comes nobody will see it coming.
