The problem is, as things go from bad to worse one would imagine that a people who call themselves by the name of God (Christian) would look to God for an answer to this problem. They would ask, what does the Lord say about our situation? But they do not ask this. They do not look to the Lord God for their solution. Instead, they commit the sin of Saul all over again by taking things into their own hands to work out political 'salvation' with their own hands by 'getting involved' and 'getting out to vote.' Their faithlessness leads them from one dark pit to an even darker deeper pit every time but they never stop to wonder "why is this not working?"
These faithless people consider praying "doing nothing" and getting involved with politics "doing something." They admit that they do not believe their prayers will change anything. They admit with their words and their actions that they believe more in what their own hands can do than what the Lord can do on their behalf through prayer. It is in fact the very definition of faithlessness. The people commit the same sin over and over and over again. And what sin is that?
1 Sam 8:4So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah.
5They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to leadb
us, such as all the other nations have.”
6But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord.
7And the Lord
told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not
you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.
8As
they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this
day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.
9Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
The Lord our God is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords but mankind wants someone their flesh can enjoy, a carnal king. The Lord has never stopped wanting to be Lord and King over His people but over and over again they look to this world for their answers instead of Him.
Isaiah 8: 19When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. 21Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. 22Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.
Should not a people inquire of their God? Yes, a people should inquire of their God but they do not. They look to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump for their salvation.
The answer to this worlds problems is Christians on their knees dressed in sackcloth and ashes seeking the wisdom and power of the Lord our God to work out solutions for us. The answer is not, and never will be presidential elections. Its a trap, and once again he pastors and priests along with those who follow them head deeper into the abyss.
Of course this goes deeper than Trump and Clinton, what this is all really about is the arrival of anti-Christ. This world and those who are of this world have routinely, year after year, decade after decade rejected Jesus Christ so in His place they will be given the anti-Christ. Thats what this is really all about. Its a trap:
2 Thess 2:6And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
This nobody who writes to you today has been given a testimony and that testimony is this: The Lord God of the Bible still answers prayer today, He still performs miracles today. This is not hearsay, nor some "sermon" heard from some hired hand spiritual worker (pastor/priest). This nobody has seen and experienced first hand the arm of the Lord reach down on his behalf and on the behalf of others to "move mountains" and "walk outside the boat" with Jesus. I guarantee anyone reading that I can do more on my knees through prayer than any man or woman alive can do with their vote. It is not just I who can do this, the message is we should all be doing this.
Looking to this world for a savior after the one true Savior the Lord Jesus Christ has already been given (and rejected) will lead to hell on earth with the devil (anti-Christ) at the forefront. The answer for us who believe is to reject this world and its wisdom in favor of the Lord our God and His wisdom. This is not new, there is nothing revolutionary about this message but history repeats itself because mankind never seems to learn.
