Staying in Step With the Spirit

Anyone who has followed this blog for more than a few weeks knows the writing has shifted here. No longer do word hammers fall against the apostasy of the church as they have for years. Why not? Where has all the bashing of the apostate church gone?

The short answer is: I don't know.

This blog was started from what I believe was clear direction from the Lord to write about the apostasy of the church. Now it appears the Spirit won't allow me near the subject. He has completely shifted gears. The bible says that the sons of God are those who are led by the Spirit of God. The writing on this blog is about following the Spirit of God, not just writing for the sake of writing. So I asked the Lord, "Lord, what about the title of the blog? It says Christian Apostasy and I don't write about that anymore?" The answer I get back from the Lord?

Romans 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

So what if the title of the blog is "christian apostasy" and there is abundant christian apostasy around us yet the Lord will not allow me to write on it anymore? If he leads me to write about fishing and wildlife or the canning process of green beans or anything else, that's what I will write about. Perhaps enough has been written already here about the apostasy of the church. Maybe time is shorter than we think and the Lord is switching from the hammer to the harp to reach out one last time to people before the tribulation starts. I don't know.

What I do know is this. The Lord's direction has been very clear over the past weeks and months. He is to be the focus. His name and his word have been lifted up above all things and we are to get a clear vision of what that means and align our walk it.

Psalm 138:2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

While people run about blogging and wringing hands over what Satan is doing in this world, I see the Lord bringing the complete focus back to himself. Our answers, our hope, our joy, our future are all contained "in Christ" which is to say not in this world. Our treasure is in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy. We can live the days ahead with our focus on the problems of the world or we can live according to the promises of our God. We can stay in step with "current events" or we can stay in step with the Spirit of God. It is no longer necessary to search every corner of the internet to find evidence that we are in the last days. The evidence that time is short has been plastered across the news headlines of the world now for YEARS. The evidence has been laid out for the world to see so frequently that one would have to be deaf dumb and blind not to see it. I believe the Lord has made his case, he has warned and now he is encouraging his people to the finish line. That's what I think is happening so lets stay in step with the Spirit of God being led by him wherever he may lead. Done for today.
