I almost did not post today because I did not sense any leading from the Spirit on what to write to you about. Alas though, he has given me something to give to you.
1. Focus on Love-this is the most basic fundamental of our faith. Everything we do and say should be rooted and built up in love. The bible tells us that without love, everything we do is useless and meaningless .
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
2. Cleansing-the Lord is coming back for a bride, a church that is radiant, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish. We looked ahead at this weekend the Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah as a possible return opportunity for the Lord, so how do we the church become this "without stain or wrinkle or blemish" church? Through the cleansing/washing with water through the word. It is through the word that we are cleansed and washed. Makes a lot of sense when we consider that the word is Jesus. He cleansed us, he shed his blood for us, and he is the word of God.
That's it. That's all I have been given today. We need to take a look at our love and perfect it. Not love as the world loves but as our God loves. We also need to stay in the word. It is through the cleansing of the word, which is Jesus that we will be ready for our master when he shows up.
