Those who predicted it as a definite event were wrong. Equally wrong were those who said it absolutely would not happen. Why were they wrong? If the angels in heaven nor the Son knows the day or hour, how could they know it definitely would not happen? Who was right? Those who were watching and ready in obedience to the multiple commandments to watch-they were right to be watching.
Now what? We continue to do what we were told to do: watch and pray-always:
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Could the Lord arrive unexpectedly tomorrow? Yes. How about next week or next month? Yep. We should be cautioned about letting our guard down now, especially in light of the multiple warnings we have been given. America has been given a 40 day warning which started on 8/21/17, the day of the "great American eclipse" and ends on Yom Kippur. This world is being warned at the same time during this same warning period. Natural disasters of every flavor are striking around the world on a daily basis.
What about the Revelation 12 sign on 9/23/17? What does the Word say?
Rev 12:1And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
There is a sign coming, and that sign is where? In heaven. That means up above our heads. Where was the 8/21 great American eclipse sign? Same place, up above our heads. The good news? These signs cannot be faked. Is the 9/23/17 event the Revelation 12 sign? This writer does not know, and because neither I, nor any other man know for sure, we need to take it seriously in case it is. We are in a 40 day time of trial and testing that only the Lord knows the exact purpose of.
What happens at the end of the 40 days? Most likely on that day nothing apparent to the human eye just as each of the blood moons on the feast days in 2014-2015 passed with scoffers and mockers claiming "nothing happened." What is important is what happens (most likely) after Yom Kippur. It doesn't take a prophet to look around at the world and compare what we see happening with the Word of God to know this world is in serious trouble.
Repent, fast, pray, stay in the Word, or else....Or else what brother D? Again, no predictions from man are necessary. The Almighty already told us exactly what is going to happen. Read Revelation. Read the prophets. That's what is going to happen. It is 100% guaranteed without any need of predictions from mankind. The Lord is coming back unexpectedly and this world is going to be pummeled. Some will be spared, some will die in the tribulation, some will stand before the Lord having escaped "all these things that shall come to pass:"
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
The answer to "what now?" for us who believe is to do what we were told to do: repent, fast, pray, stay in the Word, and be watching for the return of the Lord-every day. As with everything the Lord told us to do there are multiple layers of wisdom woven into every Word He gave us. Being watchful and ready every day is important both from the standpoint of the Lord coming back for us, and also because nobody guaranteed any of us that we will live to see tomorrow. One way or another, with time passing faster (seemingly) every day, we will be face to face with our Master very soon.
