The Pre-Trib Rapture: Luke 21:36 and Psalm 91

21: 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

I was reading Luke 21 yesterday and the Lord gave me a thought that I now share with you.  Often the debunkers and critics like to tell us that the Bible does not mean what it clearly says because we are not putting a certain verse or other into context.  Well, here is a context that blows their argument (against Luke 21:36 clearly pointing to the pre-trib rapture) out of the water.

Luke 21 gives us a panorama of the entire tribulation.  The entire chapter (almost) speaks about the time  of the end.  After detailing the tribulation to us the Lord ends all of that tribulation talk with what?

With:

21: 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

So if the critics want to put something into context how about putting Luke 21:36 into the context of Luke 21 in its entirety?  At the end our God tells us pray that you may escape ALL of whats about to happen.  What all?  Oh, you mean all of what you just told us in the entire chapter before verse 36?  Yea.  Hows that for context?

When the Lord told us to pray that we may escape all, He meant it.  Why tell us to pray for something we could never have?  Does the Lord use words flippantly?  There is not one idle word written in the Bible.  Not one.  If we were told to pray that we may escape all you can bet the farm there is an escape from all.

For an added measure of certainty ask your 'pre-wrath' and post-trib friends when the promises of Psalm 91 will no longer apply to us.  Psalm 91 is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Lord's many promises of protection for you.  When will they no longer apply?  Why the question?  Because we are clearly told that the Anti-Christ will run roughshod over the saints in the tribulation, so when do the protective promises come to an end if we are still here?

Sharing with you what has been given to me.  grace and peace.
