Pray always about everything or as the Lord told us here:
1 Thess 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Why? Why should we pray about everything, all the time? Because one of the most encouraging truths in this life is our God is answering prayers all the time! The Lord didn't tell us to pray in vain, nor did He tell us to pray constantly and expect nothing from His hand. We are to pray constantly expecting a stream of constant answers.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Every day we have troubles. Every day we have problems small and great. Many times we face issues so large that the answer is almost completely out of our hands. That is, until you realize there is one phrase that needs to be completely erased from our vocabulary. That phrase is:
"well, there is nothing I can do about it." There is always something you can do about everything....you can pray. A recent example paints this picture for us. We know that the weather around the world is going crazy. Part of the reason why is mankind is trying to play God by geoengineering the planet and in the process they are royally screwing up the planet. So what? So, if the place you live in needs rain (as my part of the country does) you can solve your weather problem through prayer. In this case, brother D has prayed for constructive/productive/health amounts of rain and guess what? We are getting rain. Do you want a big punctuation mark on that idea? Here it is:
James 5:17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
What is the Holy Spirit telling us here ^^? He didn't tell us about Elijah so we can fawn all over him and tell each other how special he was. He told us about Elijah so we will do not only what Elijah did but over and above what he did. Really? Yes, really:
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
The Son of God tell us we are going to do greater things on this earth than He did, because He will be sitting at the right hand of the Father where our prayers are to be answered. Think about that one and let in sink in real deep.
This world has some really big vexing problems but guess what? Our bag of solutions is larger than this worlds bag of problems. Ask, seek, knock and do not stop doing it. Believe you have received what you have asked for. Pray about everything small and large and do it continually. Take everything to the Lord in prayer, try to wear Him out :-)-be persistent and patient. Overflow with thanks before and after your prayers, enter His gates with praise and watch what happens. Glory to God!
