Magnetic Reversals

I just finished reading a book called magnetic reversals and evolutionary leaps. It was a good book and it laid out an explanation for much of what has happened to life on this planet in the past, as well as debunking the idea of 'evolution' in a scientific way. The author was not a christian as far as I could tell, but to my thinking, the book supported the biblical account for how things happen in this world-that is, life shows up fully functional, fully formed, not as a single celled blob on a beach somewhere that takes millions of years to turn into us.

The book says many things, but the point I want to bring out this morning is that magnetic reversals of the poles (north pole, south pole) has caused catastrophic things to happen to the earth in the past, and it looks like we are due for another one. When I read what is written in the book of revelation, some of the things there about the water turning to blood, waters being bitter etc makes me think we will see some of this magnetic change to the earth.

This also leads me to another point that I made last week about the tribulation. When the catastrophic things that are coming on the earth begin to happen, men will point to seemingly natural explanations for what's causing the calamity. What they will not point to is the predictions laid out for thousands of years, that these things were coming. Even in the midst of the tribulation, it will still take faith to see through the deception. The devil and faithless men will do everything in their power to keep your eyes off God, and on anything else they can get your attention on.

This world has many ways for men to get to hell (the wide gate) and one way to get to heaven (the narrow gate-Matt 7:14). Satan's technique has always been to provide an infinite variety of diversions to keep men's attention focused on the world and not God. Pick a poison, there are thousands of them! The only thing we really need to focus on is our God. Seek first the kingdom of God is what the bible tells us. I was reading an article recently that had some comments in it made by the Dali lama. I think the guy is spiritually way off base, but some of the philosophy he teaches is spot on. One of the things he said in the article is that 'attachment' to anything in this world leads to loss of freedom. To attached to your spouse, your kids, stuff? Yes, you should love your wife and kids, but GOD COMES FIRST. Seek FIRST His kingdom, then everything else has a place...after Him. Remember these words that Jesus spoke:

Matt 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Almost sounds like heresy to todays world does'nt it? If you love your kids more than Jesus then you ARE'NT WORTHY OF HIM. What He is saying is, the best way to love your kids, is to love HIM first. There is an order and a hierarchy for everything, and Jesus is at the top of it. He comes first, everywhere, everytime, everyplace, nothing takes priority over our love for him...nothing. When you love him first, you find out that its the best thing you could ever do for everything else you love. If we are trying to love other people without the Spirit of Jesus in us, then we are spinning our wheels and doing those we love a disservice.

Oh yea, another thing about magnetic reversals. When the the magnetic field starts to weaken around the earth, it loosens the tectonic plates deep within the earth causing earthquakes, and volcanoes to erupt, flooding and all kinds of other 'end times' events. Jesus said 2,000 years ago that we should expect these things. What did people 2,000 years ago know about the magnetic field around the earth of the north and south pole? NOTHING. Guess what? Jesus knew, he created magetism and everything else.

2009 is shaping up to be a really bad year. Have you been watching the unrest overseas? Indonesia has had riots and marching in the streets, Indias latest terror attacks unmasked some deep seated anger among the population. If this past year is any guide we will see worse natural disasters. Every sign that could be pointing to Jesus coming back, IS pointing to Jesus coming back, and soon. There is an escape promised to those who are found worthy of it. Are you praying to be counted worthy to escape all thats about to happen? If not, why not? Luke 21:36 tells you there is an escape and you should pray for it. Rev 3:10 tells you that a weak church will be kept from the tribulation that is coming on ALL the earth. The time of Jacob's (not the church's) trouble is staring us in the face.

There are two things that need to happen before "that day" Which day? THE DAY OF THE LORD.... appears. The falling away (DONE) and the anti-christ revealed (very soon). Everything is in place for the tribulation to start. A 'peace deal' is NOT what starts the tribulation week. Nowhere does the bible attribute 'peace making' to the anti-christ, only war making. If you still think the anti-christ comes as a man of peace, you need to read a more accurate translation of the bible (septuagint). What do we see all around us today? Instability and WAR. Look at this world, people trample over a Wal-Mart employee to buy meaninless stuff. From what I read, HUNDREDS of people trampled the guy leading to his death..and for what? Stuff....it makes my stomach turn, but thats the world we live in. This world is ready for the anti-christ.

For all I know, Obama could be the anti-christ. Nobody can prove he is not the anti-christ, nobody can prove that he is the anti-christ. Once the restrainer is removed, then people will know who he is. Time is short, things are going to get worse, nobody can see the silver lining in the black clouds over our heads these days. The silver lining can only be found IN CHRIST. The answer has always been the same, more Jesus. Whatever you are facing, the answer is MORE JESUS. We need more of Him and less of ourselves. There is no answer for anything outside of Christ Jesus. He is it, one stop shopping, no PhD, or ABC degree necessary to figure this one out. We live in a time of unparalleled deception, and unparalleled apostasy (falling away). These things tell us where we stand on this world's timeline. If you are'nt as happy as you used to be, or people you know are'nt as happy, it's because on a pre-conscious level, a sub-conscious level, at the spiritual level, they can sense THE END OF THE WORLD. That's what's bothering you that you can't put your finger on. Yea the economy stinks, yea, you might lose your job, yea this, yea that, but deep down, what everybody is sensing is the end of the world (as we know it).

Jesus is coming to set his feet down on the mount of olives and rule this place with an iron rod for 1,000 years. When Jesus shows up to take things over, we can expect things to get better. Until then, things are going to get MUCH worse. Keep the faith, pray for the brothers, pray to be counted worthy of the escape, you are dearly loved.
