Private victories precede public victories in our world. What this means is our private time, our relationship time, our one on one time with the Lord must always come first. See the process here. He wants a relationship. He wants a family...first. All this other stuff we talk about is a distant second. So when people get so busy with "their" ministry and forget Him in the process that is completely backwards and 100% ineffective. They are missing the entire point of all this.
We would be better off spending the personal one on one, relationship time with Him and skimping on the public facing "ministry." He must always come first:
Mark 12
28Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, [i]perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the [j]first commandment of all?”
29Jesus answered him, “The [k]first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ [l]This is the first commandment. 31And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
There ^^^ it is as clear as day. He comes first. All this stuff we are doing and going through in this life is to prepare us to live an eternity with Him, so He comes first. All the other stuff will pass away. So, while we are busy praying in His Will on this earth, let us remember that the first thing on His to do list is relationship with us. Put first things first.
