The Coming War and Death

In the past days I have written about the coming prosperity. I have also said that I don't think we'll ever see that time of prosperity. What appears to be coming in the near term is war, death and the 'escape,' and not necessarily in that order. What does the bible say about war? Alot, but I'm going to pick:

Daniel 9:26After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

With war comes death, and lots of it. The coming prosperity appears to be coming during after the initial salvo's we see in the book of Revelation. Look at how the book of Revelation starts, in Rev 6, 25% of the earth's population dies from war, famine and the beasts of the earth. Sometime before Rev 6, the escape (Luke 21:36) occurs.

So in Rev 18 we see unbelievable prosperity, but in Rev 6 we see famine, war and death. I guess my point this morning is, there may be a time of prosperity coming, but it comes only after ALOT of war, death and famine. Looking at our situation today, I see famine war and death as very real possibilities in the near term future. If that's true, the escape must be really close.

Luke 21:36 tells us to pray that we may be counted worthy to escape all thats about to happen. All that's about to happen includes 25% of the world being wiped out through war, death and famine.

I'm struggling with this idea of 'the coming prosperity' when what we see just before us is war, death and famine. Is it possible that the world turns prosperous once again during a time of war, death and famine? Oh yea, in fact that's the history of the world. Look at last year (2007), the stock market was hitting new highs while we were in a global 'war on terror' and people were dieing of famine all over Africa, India and Malaysia. The difference between last year and the future is, the casualty figure will be in the BILLIONS not the thousands.

My take on the coming prosperity at the moment is that it will firmly lock the anti-christ into power by counting on people's greed and short sightedness. History is filled with men with charisma who rode to the heights of power on economic distress. We are in the economic distress today, which means "the charasmatic leader" should arise soon. If and when he turns the economy around, that will be a huge plus for his grip on power. Remember, this is a global problem, so the man who brings a global solution will be hailed as a hero. At this time in history I have to believe that this economic hero man will be the anti-christ. If the anti-christ is about to take the world stage, then time is really, really short for the true church on earth.

These things are why we must be watching and ready TODAY. One of my old bosses at work said "there's always opportunity in chaos." How right he was. Be watching. Watch for someone to pop up with a miracle cure to the economy. If my theory is right, that this crises we are in is an artificial crises caused by bankers intentionally witholding credit, then any day now, on cue, they can let the money flow again and make someone a hero. We'll see
